Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Sarah Haider Designs website.

By placing an order through the website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. About Sarah Haider Designs

Sarah Haider Designs is an independent ceramics and design studio based in London, UK.

Trading name: Sarah Haider Designs
Name: Sarah Haider
Email: s.haider.designs@gmail.com
Address: [TO BE ADDED BEFORE LAUNCH]

Sarah Haider Designs creates handmade ceramic objects and homeware, produced individually in small quantities.

2. Products

All products are handmade and individually produced.

As a result, subtle variations in shape, dimensions, colour, glaze, texture, surface markings and finish may occur between pieces. These variations are an inherent part of the handmade process and contribute to the individual character of each piece.

Natural effects resulting from the ceramic making and firing process, including variations in glaze, speckling, pinholes and other minor surface characteristics, are not considered defects where they are consistent with the nature of the handmade product.

Product photographs are intended to provide an accurate representation of each piece. However, colours and finishes may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and individual screen settings.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory rights. Products will be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their intended purpose as required by applicable consumer law.

3. Product Availability

Products are offered subject to availability.

As our work is produced in small quantities, some pieces may be available only for a limited period or in limited numbers.

We reserve the right to withdraw or discontinue products at any time.

If a product becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, we will contact you and, where we are unable to fulfil the order, provide a full refund for the unavailable item.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP).

Sarah Haider Designs is not currently VAT registered and VAT is therefore not charged separately.

Payment is taken in full when an order is placed through the payment methods available at checkout.

The price applicable to your order is the price displayed on the website at the time your order is placed, unless there has been an obvious pricing or product information error.

If an obvious error has occurred, we will contact you before processing the order and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.

5. Orders & Contract

Orders are placed through the Sarah Haider Designs website by selecting a product, adding it to your basket and completing the checkout process.

Before placing an order, you will have the opportunity to review and correct your order details.

Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase the selected product.

An order is accepted when Sarah Haider Designs sends an order confirmation by email. At this point, a contract between you and Sarah Haider Designs is formed.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order in exceptional circumstances, including where a product is unexpectedly unavailable or there has been an obvious error in product information or pricing.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, you will receive a full refund.

6. Made-to-Order Products

Some products may be made to order. Where this applies, this will be stated on the relevant product page.

An estimated production timeframe will be provided at the time of purchase.

As our pieces are handmade, production times may vary slightly due to the nature of the making, drying, firing and finishing processes.

Where a significant delay occurs, we will contact you.

Unless a product has been specifically personalised or made to your specifications, its made-to-order status does not, by itself, remove any statutory cancellation rights that may apply.

7. Commissions

Sarah Haider Designs accepts a limited number of bespoke commissions.

Commission enquiries can be submitted through the website contact form or by email at s.haider.designs@gmail.com.

Customers are encouraged to provide as much information as possible, including the proposed design, dimensions, intended use, quantity, preferred materials or finishes, desired timeframe and budget.

Submitting a commission enquiry does not constitute acceptance of a commission.

A commission will only be confirmed once the design, specifications, price, payment terms and estimated timeframe have been agreed.

Payment

Any deposit or payment requirements will be communicated before the commission is confirmed.

Where a deposit is required, work will normally begin once the agreed deposit has been received.

Any remaining balance will be payable according to the payment schedule agreed at the time the commission is accepted.

Design Changes

Commissioned pieces are produced according to the specifications agreed between Sarah Haider Designs and the customer.

Design changes requested after the commission has been agreed may not always be possible.

Where additional work, materials or production time are required as a result of customer-requested changes, any additional costs will be discussed and agreed before the additional work is undertaken.

Commission Timelines

An estimated production timeframe will be provided when the commission is accepted.

Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, including drying and firing processes, production and delivery dates are estimates unless a specific date has been expressly agreed in writing.

Commission Cancellation

Where a commission has been personalised or made specifically to the customer's specifications, the statutory right to cancel may not apply.

If you wish to cancel a commission, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where work has already commenced, the amount refundable, if any, will depend on the stage of production and the terms agreed when the commission was accepted, subject to applicable consumer law.

Damage During Production

If a commissioned piece is damaged or otherwise unable to be completed during the making or firing process, Sarah Haider Designs will, where reasonably possible, remake the piece.

Any revised timeframe will be communicated to the customer.

If the piece cannot reasonably be remade, an appropriate refund will be provided for the affected piece or portion of the commission.

8. Delivery

Delivery information, estimated dispatch times and shipping costs are provided on the website and at checkout.

Ready-to-ship pieces will normally be dispatched within 5 working days of an order being placed.

Made-to-order pieces will be subject to the production timeframe stated on the relevant product page or provided at the time of purchase.

Delivery dates are estimates and may vary depending on the courier, destination and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to dispatch orders within the timeframe provided and assist with any delivery issues.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address. If an incorrect or incomplete address is provided, please contact us as soon as possible.

9. International Orders

Sarah Haider Designs currently offers standard online checkout for UK delivery only.

International customers may contact us at s.haider.designs@gmail.com to discuss international delivery options and pricing.

Where an international order is agreed, the recipient may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes and other charges imposed by the destination country.

These charges are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Damaged Deliveries

All ceramics are carefully packaged before dispatch.

If an order arrives damaged, please contact us at s.haider.designs@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Your order number

  • Photographs of the damaged piece

  • Photographs of the external packaging

  • Photographs of the internal packaging

Please retain the original packaging until the matter has been resolved.

We will assess the damage and arrange an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement or refund, in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.

11. Returns & Cancellation

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.

For standard, non-personalised products purchased online, you generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without providing a reason.

If you wish to exercise your right to cancel, you should contact us at s.haider.designs@gmail.com within the applicable cancellation period.

Following notification of cancellation, goods should generally be returned within a further 14 days.

Unless otherwise required by law, the cost of returning an unwanted item is the customer's responsibility.

Returned goods should be securely packaged and handled with reasonable care.

Where a valid cancellation is exercised, we will refund the purchase price and the cost of standard delivery, subject to applicable law.

Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

We may delay the refund until the goods have been returned or you have provided evidence that they have been sent back, where permitted by law.

Personalised & Bespoke Goods

The statutory right to cancel may not apply to goods that have been made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised.

This may include certain bespoke commissions or products that have been specifically altered or personalised at the customer's request.

Where an exception applies, this will be communicated to the customer before the order or commission is accepted.

12. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

If a product is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us at s.haider.designs@gmail.com.

Please provide your order number and photographs where possible so that we can assess the issue.

We will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits your statutory rights.

13. Ceramic Care & Use

All Sarah Haider Designs ceramics are made using high-fired stoneware.

Unless otherwise stated on the individual product listing, dinnerware should be hand washed.

Customers should follow the care instructions provided with their purchase and on the relevant product listing.

Ceramics should be handled with care and protected from impact, dropping and sudden or extreme changes in temperature.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, products should not be used in an oven or exposed to direct heat.

Sarah Haider Designs is not responsible for damage caused by accidental impact, misuse, improper handling or failure to follow the care instructions provided.

14. Intellectual Property

All designs, photographs, product images, text, graphics, logos, illustrations, concepts and other creative content appearing on the Sarah Haider Designs website are owned by or licensed to Sarah Haider Designs unless otherwise stated.

This material may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified or commercially exploited without prior written permission.

Purchasing a physical product does not grant the purchaser the right to reproduce, manufacture or commercially exploit the design.

For commissions, ownership of the physical object passes to the customer upon purchase, but copyright, design rights and other intellectual property rights in the underlying design remain with Sarah Haider Designs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Photography & Finished Work

Sarah Haider Designs may photograph completed products and commissioned work for use in its portfolio, website, social media, press, editorial and marketing materials.

Where a customer requires a commission to remain private, this should be discussed and agreed in writing before production begins.

16. Website Use

We aim to ensure that all information displayed on the website is accurate and up to date.

However, we do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.

You must not use the website for unlawful purposes or attempt to interfere with its security, functionality or operation.

17. Privacy

Personal information provided when placing an order or making an enquiry will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and stored.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version of the Terms & Conditions in force at the time an order is placed will apply to that order.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised date.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any mandatory rights or protections available to consumers under applicable law.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
